Partner Microsite: The American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore
AmCham values CSR and has given back to the community in a variety of ways. AmCham’s adopted charity for 2014 is the Yellow Ribbon Fund. The Yellow Ribbon Project (YRP) is funded by the Yellow Ribbon Fund and organizes a variety of programmes which seeks to engage the community in socially accepting ex-offenders and their families.
Besides allowing AmCham to give back to the society, YRP enables us to positively influence the business environment in Singapore through training potential members of the workforce. AmCham, as a business chamber, wants to ensure our members have access to a large pool of workers, so working to reengage ex-offenders in the Singaporean society and economy is well-aligned with the interests of our members.
AmCham also supports higher education in Singapore by providing a grant to students to participate in a joint course organized by Singapore Management University and University of Southern California every year. The course is a unique opportunity for the students from different cultures to study and conduct collaborative policy research together. AmCham believes the seminar that focuses on Asia-U.S. relations is an enriching experience and will help the younger generation shape the region’s future in constructive and positive ways.
