Report: Empowering Women at the Grassroots – SSIR

The Stanford Social Innovation Review (SSIR) has published a white paper outlining successful frameworks employed around the world to empower women using grassroots women’s organisations.

Drawing on examples from Nestlé in the Ivory Coast, Abbot Laboratories in Afghanistan, Coca Cola in the Philippines, Kate Spade & Company in Rwanda and Avon Products in Brazil, the SSIR paper notes that through partnerships with grassroots women’s organisations, companies can move their women’s empowerment programs beyond corporate philanthropy and embed those programs in their core business as Shared Value.

The SSIR guide to cultivating partnerships that yield lasting value can be read here and downloaded here.
